Khulekani Msweli, Director and founder of Jerempaul

KHULEKANI MSWELI – DESIGNER | ARTIST | SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR | SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVIST

Khulekani Msweli was born in Vuvulane, eSwatini, in 1984. He spent most of his early years of primary and high school education in eSwatini, acquired higher education and work experience in England. In 2010 Msweli established JEREMPAUL (www.jerempaul.com), a multiple award winning, high end design and art lifestyle brand, based in his hometown of Vuvulane. His latest venture has been the establishment of the Vuvulane Food Market. Msweli designs objects in fashion and furniture that revive artisan’s skills while challenging them to entice young generations to take part and pride in the value and meaning of design craftwork, heritage and art. His art focus is in installations, performance, photography and sculpture. He has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions locally and internationally. Msweli is also a Mandela Washington Fellow, a recipient of HM Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth 190th Points of Light Award for his service to eSwatini communities, and is a member of various boards in eSwatini.

Msweli’s greatest wish is to continue utilizing his design, art and social justice activism to bring about meaningful humanity centered development in his Vuvulane community, through his family’s Foundation (Vuvulane Orphans & Vulnerable Children’s Foundation – www.vovcof.org) where he operates as the board secretary.

To further enhance his knowledge in the arts and social justice, Msweli has travelled extensively within Africa, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
